Z-Eng and 256 cams on 93 VR6 Corrado
Here is a chart of before and after the
install of the Z-Engineering Kit on a '93 Corrado VR6.
Believe it or not, this Corrado was only
dynoing at 148 HP @ the wheels before we added a set of DSR 256 cams to
it. Then, it dynoed just a bit over 160 HP. Sure, it didn't
start out as the strongest car but, boy, look at it now!!! 230 HP
@ the wheels and an axle twisting 207 ft-lbs of torque!! We
estimate a conservative 263 HP and 237 ft-lbs of torque at the crank
with a realistic 12.5% drive train loss. If we corrected using 15%
(which we feel is a bit high), we'd be looking at 270 crank HP!!!
We also used a bit of GIAC magic as Garrett
custom programmed a chip for this bad boy! Weighing in at 2700 lbs
and mated with the Corrado's 3.69:1, the car is a serious terror.
We expect quarter mile times in the mid-13's if traction can be held.
